We work with partners from a variety of sectors and organisations and help them find innovative ways to engage with their staff and the public.
There are numerous ways to get involved.
Local organisations have held quizzes, completed Tough Mudder challenges, held cake sales, joined fundraising walks and much more to raise money to support people with mental health problems and dementia. They’ve also raised awareness of mental health in the workplace and supported their staff’s wellbeing through our mental health training courses.
A. C. Wilgar
A local plumbing and heating business based in Orpington and Beckenham, family firm A.C. Wilgar are working with us as a long-term corporate partner. They have set themselves a target of raising over £5,000 for our services through fundraising activities with their workforce and customers.
To date, they have raised more than £2,200 by taking on a Commando Series challenge and organising staff fundraising activities such as a quiz.
As well as raising funds, the team are also raising awareness of the importance of good mental health through mental health and wellbeing training sessions for staff.
The Wilgar family have close, personal experience of mental health illness, and strongly believe in ensuring everyone gets the mental health support they need, when they need it.
“A. C. Wilgar are delighted to be working with BLG Mind, a fantastic organisation, and one that quite literally helped to save my brother’s life.”Liam Wilgar, Director, A. C. Wilgar
South East London Orchestra
We are delighted to welcome our newest partner, South East London Orchestra (SELO), a leading amateur orchestra based in Beckenham.
Founded in 2016, SELO has a reputation for putting on exciting, high quality concerts across South East London.
SELO performs an extensive repertoire, covering classical works from baroque to the modern day, with a particular emphasis on British composers including Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Lennox Berkeley and Joseph Horovitz.
In 2016, SELO gave the UK premiere performance of a work by Fung Lam.
As well as beautiful music, a delicious array of homemade cakes is also guaranteed at the orchestra’s performances. SELO will be donating the proceeds of cake sales at various performances in 2023 to BLG Mind. Visit Southeastlondonorchestra.com to find out more.
“We chose BLG Mind because we believe in the great work that they do across South East London, supporting our local community from young people at school to those living with dementia and everyone in between with incredible services and resources.”Jennifer Sutton, SELO musician and community development
