Have you heard about Bromley Recovery College’s Singing for Wellbeing Choir?

The choir runs termly over 12 weeks and is led by professional singers Katie Rose and Sarah Fisher. It aims to help you find and enjoy your voice, and experience the wellbeing benefits of singing in a safe and supportive group.

NB: If you missed the first session, you’re still more than welcome to come along to the second or third session.

Singing can produce amazing, life-enhancing effects, including:

🎵 Releasing feel-good endorphins

🎵 Lowering stress levels

🎵 Helping with sleep

🎵 Improving mental alertness

Learning songs involves focus and concentration, helping to take our minds off worries. A natural mood-booster, singing is also fun – and a great way to make new friends.

Each session will begin with a gentle vocal warm-up, breathing and physical exercises, followed by singing in harmony. We’ll learn an exciting set of songs from various genres including pop, jazz, world and folk, and work towards an end-of-course concert.

The choir is open to everyone who has experienced mental health problems, as well as anyone working in the mental health field.

Come along and meet new people, experience new connections, discover new sounds and, most of all, HAVE FUN! You don’t have to audition, you don’t have to be able to read music and you don’t have to be the next Beyoncé or Ed Sheeran! There’s something for everyone in our new Wellbeing Choir!
