We are grateful to Torch Entertainment for holding not just one but two Christmas Sing-Along Concerts in aid of BLG Mind this weekend.
Over 400 people came together in Petts Wood United Reformed Church to dance and sing along to Christmas classics including I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday and Jingle Bells.
This annual event for BLG Mind is highly anticipated and quickly sold out. Rarely though, have we had the delight of two concerts performed on the same day!
Mayor of Bromley gets involved
Amongst a packed audience from the local community, we were pleased to welcome the Mayor of Bromley, Mike Botting, attending with his wife.
If people hadn’t been in the festive spirit before they arrived, they certainly were once the singing started.
The Christmas Sing-Along Concerts featured a range of traditional and modern Christmas songs. Conductor, Georg Tormann, did a fantastic job of ensuring it wasn’t just the children who were dancing. Even Santa dropped by at one point to join in the singing.
BLG Mind Chief Executive gives powerful speech
Ben Taylor, Chief Executive of BLG Mind, thanked everyone for their support:
“Donations from events such this make a huge difference and can enable us to fund services that aren’t delivered through statutory funding…. Demand for our services has been greater than ever this year, and for the first time, our services have reached over 10,000 people.“
Special thanks go to:
- All the wonderful musicians who gave their time to help raise funds for BLG Mind’s local dementia and mental health services.
- Torch Entertainment and Diane Hatch who worked tirelessly to ensure the concerts ran so smoothly and were such fun
Last but not least, we would also like to thank the following corporate partners and supporters who kindly sponsored a carol:
For anyone who missed the concert, some tickets are still available to see the London Concert Chorus perform a Christmas Sing-Along in the Barbican on 17th December.
