Team MSK take on the 3 Peaks

On Friday 9th June 2023, Jon Doughty and his team of intrepid hikers from MSK started out on the 12hr drive from Barking, arriving at Fort Williams around 21:30. After a brief sleep, they set off at 03:30 Saturday morning to make their way up the first peak, Ben Nevis.

The weather was cool on the way up Ben Nevis, roasting on the way down! Lovely clear views greeted them at the top and there was even a bit of snow up there.

The English peak of Scafell was next and hard in the heat.

Then followed an interesting drive to Snowdon, in the dark, pouring rain, no phone signal and sheep wondering in the road!

The team were behind the 24hr target time at this point, but wanted to stick together and finish the challenge as a group.

Snowdon was understandably the hardest climb. By that point people’s knees were seriously hurting and tiredness had kicked in. The two previous mountain climbs and descents were taking their toll.

Undeterred though, the team continued and finished at the bottom of Snowdon having completed the full challenge in around 28 hours.

What an amazing experience and phenomenal achievement! We can’t thank Jon and his MSK team enough for taking on this challenge and raising a huge £2,636 for BLG Mind. Thank you!
