We are delighted to announce that our newest charity partner is South East London Orchestra (SELO).

Based in Beckenham, SELO is one of south London’s leading amateur orchestras, with a reputation for exhilarating and accomplished performances. The orchestra performs an extensive repertoire, covering classical works from baroque to the modern day, with a particular emphasis on British composers.

Jennifer Sutton, SELO musician and community development, said the musicians decided to support BLG Mind to mark the orchestra’s tenth birthday.

“South East London Orchestra is delighted to partner with BLG Mind to celebrate our ten year anniversary,” she said.

“We chose BLG Mind because we believe in the great work they do across South East London supporting our local community, from young people at school to those living with dementia and everyone in between, with incredible services and resources.

“We wanted to raise their profile amongst SELO’s membership and audience, as well as raise some money to support their work and also challenge the orchestra to ensure that our concerts are accessible to everyone who would like to enjoy classical music in their local area.”

In January, South East London Orchestra will be hosting a special relaxed concert, which has an inclusive, noise-tolerant environment. They are also holding several fundraising concerts for BLG Mind throughout 2023, with profits from cake sales at the performances going directly to us.
