Don raises £14k for young people’s mental health

A first time marathon runner has raised an incredible £14,000 for our Minds Up young people’s mental health project.

Don Harrington took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October in memory of his daughter Laura. He finished the race in two hours and 41 minutes.

Don said: “I was so delighted to complete the Royal Parks Half Marathon in memory of our beloved daughter Laura.

“We are extremely grateful to everyone who donated, including family, friends, and those who were touched by Laura, for their generosity.

“We are all so happy and proud of the enormous amount of money raised for the Minds Up programme and the tremendous work these funds will enable.”

Charlotte Fletcher, Head of Communications and Development at BLG Mind, said: “Don is a truly inspiring and incredible human being.

“The funds he has raised will be used to support teenagers to understand mental health and seek support when needed through Minds Up, which takes place across secondary schools in Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich.”

There’s still time to support Don at Just Giving.
