On 19th October john Ilson of Bromley and Sheppard’s Colleges invited volunteers from the Bromley & Lewisham Mind Fundraising Committee to their premises in London Road, Bromley. Bromley & Sheppard’s Colleges provide accommodation for retired clergy and their dependents.

Bromley & Lewisham Mind volunteers were invited to join residents, who are retired male and female vicars and widows or widowers of clergy or unmarried daughters of clergy, for lunch. Chair of the Board of Trustees at Bromley & Lewisham Mind, Linda Gabriel, gave a presentation about the organisation’s mental health and dementia services.

Sylvia Gosst hosted a raffle, and this with donations and the proceeds from Colleges’ shop on the day, raised a total of £207 for Bromley & Lewisham Mind.

After lunch, Bromley & Lewisham Mind guests were treated to a tour of the Colleges by John Ilson, the oldest part having been built in 1670 and the oldest building in Bromley.

Linda Gabriel said, “We all really enjoyed our day there and are all very grateful for the hospitality and interest shown to us and also the splendid sum collected for the work of Bromley & Lewisham Mind. We thank Gill Dean, a member of our Fundraising Committee, for making the day possible.”
