Bromley MindCare Shortlisted for National Care Awards

Activity at the Beckenham MindCare Dementia Support Centre

Quickly after the MindCare Dementia Skills team’s award success, Bromley MindCare Dementia Support has been shortlisted for another two national care awards.

MindCare’s Dementia Support Centre staff have been shortlisted for award and recognition as Care Team of the Year for both the 5th National Dementia Care Awards to be held on 11 November in Brighton and the 16th National Care Awards to be held on 28 November in London.

MindCare runs two dementia support centres in the borough of Bromley providing personalised dementia care to local residents to help them live in their local communities and homes.

The centres hold indoor and outdoor activities for clients with dementia to encourage cognitive stimulation, everyday living and social interaction. This also gives family carers a break from caring responsibilities so they can work, look after their own health, take part in social activities or pursue other interests.

Chief Executive, Ben Taylor, said, ”The shortlisting of our MindCare Dementia team for these national awards is great recognition of the excellent staff and volunteer team we have at our MindCare centres. They work hard continually updating their dementia skills and putting them into practice, providing the best possible service, tailored to the individual needs of over 200 clients who use our centres in Beckenham and Orpington each year. The work can be demanding but our staff seem to have endless supplies of patience and enthusiasm combined with a real commitment to maximising the quality of life of MindCare clients.”

Members of the MindCare team will be attending the Awards Ceremonies to find out if they have been successful.
