35 Bromley & Lewisham Mind volunteers attended the Volunteer Meal 2014 on Tuesday 3 June, held at the Barrel and Horn in Bromley as part of Volunteers Week 2014.

Volunteers from mental health and dementia services were invited to attend the evening meal in recognition and appreciation of the 300 hours per week they contribute to the work of Bromley & Lewisham Mind, helping improve the quality of life of people affected by mental health problems or dementia in the London boroughs of Bromley and Lewisham.

Volunteers from across Bromley and Lewisham were treated to a buffet meal and the opportunity to meet and socialise with other volunteers and staff from across the organisation.

Chief Executive, Ben Taylor, personally thanked all the volunteers with a few words of gratitude to the group and individuals and awarded certificates to all volunteers.

Speaking to the volunteers, Ben Taylor said,

“Thank you for bringing your diverse skills and experience. Thank you for your great commitment and flexibility. Volunteers are absolutely essential to Bromley & Lewisham Mind being able to provide the valuable support we do to hundreds of people each week. It really isn’t an exaggeration to say we couldn’t manage without you.”
