Wheels for Wellbeing – Cycling

< Back to directory

Wheels for Wellbeing is an award-winning charity supporting disabled people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of cycling, including people with mental health needs. Cycling can be easier than walking, a way to keep independent, fit and healthy, a mobility aid, and a useful form of everyday transport. Inclusive cycling means EVERYONE can cycle regardless of age, health condition or impairment.
They provide:

  • Regular off-road cycle sessions with a wide variety of standard and non-standard cycles.
  • Outreach sessions across Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon where they provide cycles for people to try.
  • Advice and support.

About their sessions.
Their regular outdoor drop-in sessions run throughout the year, in most weathers. They have a wide range of cycles for use within the session so that anyone, whatever their age, disability or health need can enjoy the fun and benefits of cycling.
Sessions are staffed by qualified and experienced cycle instructors, with support from volunteers. Instructors help participants get comfortable on a cycle that suits their need and are there to offer advice and support throughout the session.
Their wide variety of adaptive cycles, from tandems to hand cycles, enable everyone to enjoy cycling with us
