Albany Trust Charity is one of the few specialist counselling and psychotherapy services based within South London, that provides professional support around gender, sexuality and relationship issues. They also offer a low-cost clinic. Their therapies are based on evidence about what works and feedback from their clients about what is most helpful.

Albany Trust provides expert professional help specifically to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community as well as anyone looking for help with problems related to sexual wellbeing that are having an impact on their relationships. They offer help for a wide range of issues – from sexual orientation to sexual difficulties to coping with an affair.

The goal of therapy and counselling at Albany is to promote emotional wellbeing, and their specialist expertise is in relationships and sexuality.

They offer the following types of therapy and counselling:

  • A low-cost clinic for people who are unemployed or on a low income.
  • Longer-term one-to-one/individual psychodynamic counselling.
  • A couples counselling clinic focusing on conflicts around sex, gender and sexuality.
  • LGBT+ counselling: one-to-one; for couples; in groups. They also offer a limited number of sessions to the LGBT+ British Sign Language community.
  • Brief counselling for specific issues such as harmful sexual risk-taking.

Opening times:
Office hours are Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri 12noon - 4pm. Therapists see clients Monday - Saturday 7am - 9pm.

Low-cost counselling is from £10 to £55. Couples/relationship counselling from £30 to £90. LGBT+ counselling from £5 for groups and £10 for one-to-one.
